Dear Parents and Guardians,

Re: Nationally Consistent Collection of Data on School Students with Disability (NCCD)

Every year, all schools across Australia are required to take part in the Nationally Consistent Collection of Data (NCCD) on school students requiring extra support and or adjustments to enable them to participate in education on the same basis as other students.

Information provided about students to the Australian Government for the NCCD includes:

This information assists schools to:

The NCCD provides state and federal governments with the information they need to plan more broadly for the support of students with disabilities. The NCCD will have no direct impact on your child and your child will not be involved in any testing process. The school will provide data to the Australian Government in such a way that no individual student will be able to be identified – the privacy and confidentiality of all students is ensured.

Further information about the NCCD can be found on the NCCD Portal

ART

It has been a busy start to the term with a lot of hands on and messy art happening in the art room. Our topic for Term 3 and 4 is ‘Food Glorious Food’ to reflect our upcoming art show and concert planned for Term 4. Students have been really enjoying creating art and craft that is all about food!

Year 2’s have enjoyed creating ‘silly sandwich’ drawings and ‘3D pizza slice drawings’ using oil pastels. It was hard to imagine and add unusual items into our pizza slices!

Here are some year 3’s enjoying making ‘fizzy lemonade’ watercolour drawings. After drawing their lemonade cups with wax crayons – which resists watercolour when painted on - they painted it with watercolour and sprinkled it with salt. They were amazed to see the salt making the watercolour appear ‘fizzy’ when dry.

Year 4’s have been busy making ‘air dry clay cake slices’, which looked almost edible when complete! They have been painting them this week, and we aim to reveal them in our display cabinets soon. They will also be displayed at our upcoming art show.

We always welcome volunteers into our art room, so if you have a passion for art and a ‘working with children’s check’, we would love for you to join us

Regards,

Mrs. Zengin
